guys, i want to buy a guitar, am considering between these 2 models and brands. need advices and suggestions

both 000 size, the difference are as follows:

Martin: made in USA, sitka spruce top, cherry back and sides. has some nice cosmetics including the tortoise binding and headstock, gold tuning pegs, and comes wth hardcase. selling ard 1.5k at city music

Parkwood:made in ....., sitka spruce top, mahogany side and back. cosmetics basic. selling ard 700 at luther music.

i know the price is very different, but want to know ur opinion about the value of the price paid and the guitar bought.

Agree with Ladyintears. Definitely try them both out. They will sound very different, considering that the Martin is using cherry wood (which is not common) so it'll have a distinctive sound. You might like it, or you might not...

Generally Parkwood is known for offering very good value.

personally i'll go for the martin. owned cedar top/wild cherry back/sides acoustics before, sounds warm with good articulation. so cherry is a safe bet. martin craftsmanship is also miles ahead.

Yes, both are full solid.

Martin has a hardcase, parkwood doesn't.

So to even up the specs, account for a price of a good hardcase for the parkwood and compare from there.

If the park sounds better, I'd just get it, cort makes good guitars and parkwood is supposedly a 'higher end' acoustic line from cort.

To be honest, I'd personally go for the Martin.

Martin:
- $1.5K seems a good price for an all-solid by Martin (one of the big names from the old days).
- It will have a unique tone and appearance due to cherry wood not being common.

Parkwood:
- Has very common specs, thus would sound quite similar to a lot of other guitars out there.
- I wasn't very impressed by the Parkwoods, but that's subjective. :)

I won't talk about bling, I actually prefer minimal bling. :)
