CAN SOMEONE SAY AWESOME?

Surprisingly, I don't see many Navigators around in guitar shops.
They're an excellent alternative for custom shop guitars.

Anyone knows if Davis does bring in Navigator? since its from ESP.
I know blackwood guitars do bring in Edwards sometimes.

Anyway, what is the price range of Navigator guitars? 4k onwards issit?
Anyone owns a Navigator here? :)

Pedal-itis, a fellow softie here, currently sells a Navigator Les Paul, at a great price.. you have to pm him about this...

Navigators (the LP-like models) would be in the upper price range, much intruding into the Gibson price bracket. with this amount of money, practical buyers would invest in a Gibson instead, namely due to a more stable re-sale value owing to the brand name... Navigator, ESP & Edwards manifest great QC & tone.

a Navigator would trump a Gibson any day .. a number of Navigator LP's have passed through my hands along with a Navigator ES335.. and hot damn, they are the most brilliant Gibson 'copies' available man..

and honestly, theres nothing more practical bout a Gibson really, not in todays day and age.

i think gibson's old models are good. maybe not anything they recently produced or maybe the last few years. but my lead guitarist tried an abt 20years old gibson LP and he says it feels so much more solid than the epi lp he's been using. and thats after i told him gibson sucks nowadays -_-

i'm not a Gibson fan but i believe this brand name holds its own in terms of tone. if they are going downhill these days, the company should have shut down by now.

but they are still going...

Actually, I do feel the newer gibbys fail in quality and tone .. They are living on their reputation of yesteryear now .. Their quality and heritage of their older pieces is undeniable though

there are some good ones from the new generation, i've come across these guitars but it's not worth the $$ to be spending on them IMO, especially when the rivals appeal more in terms of playability & tone.

You're kidding right? You're comparing a Gibson vs an Epiphone saying the Gibson feels more solid?

The 80s Gibsons were okay... Nothing to write home about. Give me a brand new historic anyday. The only thing bad about historics from Gibsons today, are the prices.

And for those who claim that Gibson sucks today? I'd say put your money where your mouth is. Go find a brand new USA Gibson, take a pic of the manufacturing defect (anything non-reversible) and post it. Many I've spoken to, online and offline, who claim Gibson sucks on today's production models have never even owned one. When asked about specifics on how they fare poorly, none could give me specific examples. And the key problems, are always about pricing. That's not quite a valid claim either. It's always a buyer's market. The seller will price it, and there will always be people who are willing to pay the price.

In every brand, every level, every make, there are always duds and gems.

I'd put up my USA Chambered Reissue up against almost any guitar out there today in terms of quality. 2009 and 2010 are very good years for Gibson. They've stepped up quite a bit. And i'm not even talking about historics as yet.

I will agree with you on this.
My 2009 R7 is simply wonderful!

Agreed. The only thing I can think of to oust the Gibson in their Les Pauls would be a custom built. Nothing beats a guitar custom-ed to your liking.

And ALL brands have lemons... Its just your luck. I've ever tested a Gibson les paul that sounded like a plastic guitar... Piak Piak Piak...

The new standard is awesome in terms of features. Having a Sterling AX40 with an A-symmetrical neck, I've come to appreciate this little detail... Allows me to have chunk with fast playability at the same time!

Guitarists are weird creatures.
They don't think about resale value when they buy a $15,000 car, but they think about resale value when they buy a $1000 guitar.

Meanwhile the car loses $1000 in value the minute you drive it out the showroom, and drops in value daily after you've bought it.
Eventually it lands up on a scrapheap or for sale in a "Used" car lot for 10% of it's original value, meanwhile you're still playing the $1000 guitar.

I would so take up your challenge man.... If i was still working at that store that is....

Should have saved the photos I took to file a claim(actually its many claims) with Gibson....
