Name your favorite cd shop

1. Inokii
Pros: Friendly owner, reasonable price. Efficient. Enough said.
Cons: Can't think of any... None?

2. HMV
Pros: Wide variety of albums that you can't find anywhere else. Easy reference
Cons: Too pricey. Not worth the money... I paid Hawthorne Heights debut album for 50 bucks.

3. Borders
Pros: You will find albums you thought you would never find... Some even HMV doesn't have.
Cons: Messy due to the "Listen to the Album cds". People listen and don't put back at where it should belong.

Amazon MP3 Store

Actually I have been buying my albums from amazon mp3 store for quite a while now. It's way cheaper (9.99 USD or less per album) than buying it from Borders or HMV. You can pretty much find anything you want there. Best part is that it's all DRM-free as in they are just regular mp3s without any restriction.

Of course by right they only allow purchases from US residents , but it's fairly easy to bypass that - all you need is an American Express card (other cards might be blocked) and a US address.

Not CD Rama

Definetly Inokii for me for my metal needs, even though he sells other genres there.

HMV's too pricey for me but makes up for it by importing wide varities.

I rather go to gramaphone to get resonabily cheap CDs there.

Any of those places besides Toa Payoh CD Rama!

another fav-releted thread.wont be surprised if someone come up with fav mama shop thread.

gramophone and amazon for me. hmv is overpriced as hell most of the time. but i got some good buys there, during the sale mostly

fave mama shop? hahaha!! ok, i dont have a fave mama shop....
but my fave CD shop would be Gramophone.
HMV is good too.. but their stuff can be really ex. sometimes i get some CDs online from HMV hong kong. works out to be more or less the same price if you were to buy a CD in singapore, but you get stuff there that you wouldn't get here. especially those old school rock/metal CDs. :)

I realised I bought a lot of CDs and books online. Amazon.com, Tonevendor.com and various CDs direct from the bands.

downloading aside, nowadays online cd mailorder direct from US is super damn cheap esp the ex rates................

but still buy from shops to keep the phy retail space alive!!!

Inokii - best prices
To Megatherion - kvlt power hahaha
Roxy - good ole times & nice vinyl selection

actually there arent many shops left hehehe.........sad and tr00
