Agree with gutturalpiss. AMD is not the same as AMD from the past. There may be DAW software issues with AMD in the past due to architecture, but not anymore.

And there's really no motherboard that will conflict with audio interfaces. However, I always stay with ASUS. My work place's MSI seems to be going OK - for 4 years so far without giving problems.

Assuming that I upgrade the ram to DDR 2GB (That's the max for this PC I understand), and I reformat + install Cubase. It still won't do good for layering? As in, latency issues or?
