My Elegee custom guitar (Tyler classic inspired) in-the-making

Hi katetot,
you guitar is looking good man. do you mind giving me their contact. I've actually been looking for a custom guitar maker in the philippines for quite some time. however i've sort of given up my search because those that i found did not quite impress me. btw which part of the philippines are they located? thanks.

His Shop is in Sta. Mesa, Manila. Try to contact Jon of Elegee Guitars at +632-716-6665 / +63917-890-4677

HE does many of the popular guitarist/bassist instrument.
Some of his endorsers are Barbie Alamalbis and Karel Honasan

Well I'm not trying to start a debate on tonewoods.

I'm just amused and the blank.
Looks like it came from a piece of furniture.

Is it?

I know what our talking about.. :) It's just so amazing how a pieces of wood can turn to a thing of beauty..

Mike!

Bob here! Nice to see ur guitar coming to live. Is the neck carve based on my D'Pergo guitar?

Bob

Yo Bob!

Yeah man..I'm excited! Hopefully i can get the guitar in 2 weeks..I told him the specs of the d'pergo neck and tyler so maybe its more of a hybrid type..lets see when it comes! :D

It's 1.5k Singaporean Dollars guys..hehehe
Pricing depends on your specs!

Don't have enough budget to make the neck birds-eye but honestly i wanted it just a simple hard rockin maple..

I will definitely update you guys with the developement of the guitar! BTW You can talk to Jon (luthier) when he comes here to SG for a visit!

Here are some new photos:

The bridge is Gotoh (the one Suhr uses)..I bought the hardwares here in SG (tuners, bridge, pots, 5-way selector) I just want to make sure that even the small things are still at its best..

do these parts contribute to the 1.5k pricetag?

Nice project man! Keep us posted on its development. I've met Jon once and he seems to be a nice and humble guy. His works on the guitars of Barbie Almalbis(I think she still has that photo of her and the guitar at tgp under the user nick minty) and Karel Honasan are great works of art.

A friend of mine, who's one of the best players back home(psychic_sushi), must be his first client in elegee guitars as he endorses them. From what I saw, he's really very good specially on the neck. His fretwork is very clean and so are his paint jobs. I'm not sure about his own pu's because the ones in my friend's guitar are GFS pu's he requested at the time, which I find quite lacking. Not sure if his replaced them now.

I'm glad that Jon is back and his business seems to be more vibrant specially if you consider the fact that he got affected by one of the worst floods(a freak one) to hit Manila last year. Go Pilipinas!: )

Ok bro!

Let me know when it comes! I don't mind bringing down my D'Pergo for a shootout! Can't wait to hear it man.. Your combination of a D'Pergo and a Tyler!

Btw guys, if you didn't know, Katetot has huge gas on boutique guitars, hes been through suhrs and whatnot, definitely know what hes getting himself into!

I expect this to be quality la Mike!

Bob

wow! pretty impressive.. i'm just wondering how these truss rod system works. seen a few but haven't really tweaked with one. is it possible to adjust the truss rod without takin' out the pickguard / neck pup?

In this case, I don't have to take off the pick-guard in adjusting the truss rod. You just have to insert a small screw driver or rod than can fit the holes of the wheel then turn to the desired neck relief. :)
