My Drum Setup - comments?

Wow.. Nice...

Thanks dude for sharing about your DIY sound absorber...

I wonder how u attach that to the wall?

and also regarding the frameworkbuilding thing, do they also provide the service to actually help us attach to the wall? If DIY, what sort of adhesive should we use eh?

Thanx dude..

.

Well.. i used Maxbond.. using a caulking gun, just use a little and spread it on the wall. It will be there permanently, and any removal = destruction and hacking. Best way is to hand it up like a photo frame, using a thread, and you should figure the rest yourself. Have fun. Btw, Labour to do those frames damn expensive, and i dont think many would do it for you. I ever heard some contractors quote 1000 to get it done, which is ridiculous.

Dude, how i wish i can go right down to your house now and play your kit...

I am planning to get an A custom Fast Splash 8" which you have.. How much did you bought it man?

Z'

..

hahaha.. i bought it at 120... but they are having a present sale i guess.. its going at 30% off for snare drums and cymbals i think.. I plan on buying a dave weckl or steve ferrone snare for my primary, and i put my oak custom as secondary. its down from 1438 to around 1100.. mmm...

Man i love ur set-up. freakin cool man

my set-up is weak. my ride is totally unreachable. the only way to make is reachable is to take out my tom is it worth it?

yup its worth it. never really had been in these kind of situations.. which is rather weird. there's always a boom stand or something. haha anyways has anyone replaced their heads with a remo head and howmuch it'll cost?

Woah damn cool kit there!
Imma gonna zhng my drums at the next swee lee sale. Cowbells/ agogo bells, tamborine, cymbals, new heads... outta cash for now.
BTW where did you buy the sticky stuff i see on your snare and cymbal, heard its good for reducing the 'riiing' sound.

hey

get them from nigel in excelsior hotel. by the way guys, that is my old setup. i've changed my setup a little now, and added some stuff.. i will also be doing independent import of drum products directly from the US retailers. I can tompang a bit to save on shipping cost. that sticky thing is moongel.. :S hahaha.. check out my setup now.. :P

haha yea man is called moongel dampers, really works to remove the melodic overtones. could even work for a muffler.

Yeap read about those haha. do you know where to buy them?

..

singapore moongels also overpriced. lol.. 14 bucks for one box of 5 i think. in US only like 3.99 or 4.99 USD, which is about 7-8 SGD. and its so small.. shipping rates are like perhaps 5USD for 6 boxes of those, since they fit in one envelope. So imagine the profit margin. sometimes, small imports yourself does get better prices.

so far i've only see Drum Resources at peninsula. He's out of town right now so you could get it from guitar 77. its 12dollars for 4 pieces.

..

yeah.. that is usually where i got it.. however, i import my stuff and accessories now. i never buy them locally. even my cymbals.. all US import. save a little bit if you are buying in the hundreds or thousands though. thats what i can say. :D

Grado Reference series, or a Bose QuietComfort 3. :D please advice on the new setup too. :)

..

i use it for hand la.. i know its an awkward place to put it.. but i'm more sort of traditional kind of person. I'm not one to explore and do something wicked like portnoy.. I just play things simple and sweet. That's why, whatever it is, I feel its personal preference so no hard feelings if you think otherwise. take care and good day.

..
