My acoustic guitar preamp not working

I have a crafter guitar that has a preamp with tuner together with it
Last week when i took out my guitar to play, i realise the preamp tuner has no power
So i had a new battery replaced today and to my horror it did not power up at all too
It was working fine few weeks ago and confuses me as i did not do anything to damage the preamp
Anybody have this problem and have a possible solution to this?

Does it still work when you plug in a 1/4 inch and play thru an amp/PA system? If it does, its probably the tuner that's faulty. If not, best to get it to a shop to diagnose the problem. Raymond@Luthermusic knows acoustic guitars well so you might wanna try going to him.

not very sure if its working a not, if not it is very very soft thru the system
anyway recommanding the place, at least i know where to go now:)

If its too soft, its as good as not working. Therefore, i suggest going to a shop. The problems that could be afflicting your pickup are numerous, ranging from bad soldering to spoilt/broken wiring, to a damaged piezo. Most, if not all of which you can't DIY.

for preamps with a built in tuner, the tuner is usually the first thing to go. guess what, it can't be fixed.

if given a choice, I rather get a preamp without the tuner. Snark tuners are like $16 only.

Tested it another day by my fren, plug in to amplifer got no problem, he said the same thing that tuner usually first thing to go
He got no idea what went wrong until he open up to see the pre amp, might be bad soldering etc..
Afraid things might turn bad after opening up, got to live without the tuner since the it still can work well without it

Anyway thanks guys :)
