My 5th April Playlist - what's yours?

Extreme - 'Pornograffiti' accompanied my bus ride to work today.

Nuno absolutely dazzles on this album - funky percussive guitar rhythms with a chunky muted element on the lows, screaming hyperspeed alternate picked runs, masterfully conceived and death-defylingly-executed tapping licks and more.

All of this is injected with Nuno's heightened melodic sensibilites and drummer's rhythmic intuition that add up one of the best guitar albums of the 90s. Every rock guitar disciple should own this - the solo on 'Get The Funk Out" is reason enough to acquire it.

Now I'm definitely in the mood to see him in the upcoming clinic!

powerful guitarworks no doubt, but dun quite like the tone of this album, comparing to 3 sides and punchline leh... very metallic and digital... the later albums seems to sound more analog, more natural... anyway its just my personal preference...

Yeah - I know what you mean on the guitar tone, but I kind of like it.

The guitar work is much more prevalent on this album than subsequent Extreme albums (although the songs are not always so super) which is why it excites me.

Anyway, right now, oddly, what you hear me play MOST often are either Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine (Love the whispering at 2:30) or Children of Bodom - Needled 24/7 or Children of Bodom - Children of Bodom.

Oddly, not much Nightwish, though She Is My Sin is still world class.

I guess those songs tell much about my musical tastes, eh?
