my 2nd try of 新不了情

Shall not go into the details of song management, but

First half:
- Sounded not too bad, nice tone you got.
- The 斗音 during 尾音s was too much. I THINK you wanted to start off with a clean and modern voice. However, the way you 压 your low notes isn't modern. So it gives me the impression that you're unsure of whether to sing in a tone you like (which is the clean tone) or to do what you're comfortable with.

2nd half:
- You lost vocal control. Mainly coming from throat.

Overall, it seems that
- your diaphragmn control is wrong. It seems like the way most school choirs use. Including your soft pellet.. it's overly opened when you are hitting higher notes. On top of that, your mouth shape changes too much when you're singing, trying hard to mouth the words openly to aid which makes it sound un-natural.
- You should lower key. This key is too high, and right from the start, your vocal register and placement is high. There's no layering to create emotions.

haha.. gt tired after typing the first para and skimmed thru the rest. =x

Just my 2 cents.

PS: U might want to try to do a ssssssssssss sound very softly. It should be stable, yet strong, and you shld be able to hold at least 20seconds. From what I hear, I think you might have problems with this cuz of diaphragm contrl.

Hope I've helped a lil.

Cheers!!

but my habit very hard to change... but it sure helps... thank you for the reply and comment...

OMG!
i finally got to hear it!!!

its amazing!!!
i am pleasantly suprised to hear a great vocalist like u in singapore!

My view.. i thing the reason on the 2nd part is kinda "weird" is because you intend to pull most of the chord.. once you start to pull the chord you dont have enough time to change your vocal and cause some bad point trying to be creative . your kind of style is more suitable if you are working with a band/unplugged .. if you are singing with minus one do some home work on which part to take in song feel and many more.

i dont think so...i think his style is amazing as it is.....
but its just my opinion lah...haha

Pros :

- Very accurate awareness of pitch.
- Good, successful attempts at vocal acrobatics.

Cons :

- It is very obvious that you have been straining your throat muscles for most parts of the song, most notably the high notes. Even at the start of the piece, you're already straining bits of them. The sound projected from your voice sounded a little bit as if you are "swallowing", which is not as obvious on the easier notes, but gets mroe and more prominent as you go deeper into the piece.

-----------

There are three elements that determines whether a person's voice can WOW a crowd - Volume, Articulation, Pitch accuracy. First off all, you need to 'degrade' your audience, making them think "Shit. I can't do that". Lacking in any one of those elements will make people go, " Oh sure he/she can sing, but nothing too special. I can do some parts of it to. " This perspective varies depending on the level of vocal skills a person possess.

You have the right Articulation and Pitch Accuracy, but the volume on the high notes lack the cutting edge. When you fail to hit the highest part nicely, it feels as if someone is throwing a wet blanket; All your hard work you've put in on the earlier parts of the piece were suddenly wasted. Never let emotions take full control of the output of your voice i.e. You feel that a certain part of the song is supposed to sound subtle, so you deliberately go soft to a huge extent. By doing so, you compromise the clarity and quality of the voice because you're restricting the flow of it. Sing as though you are speaking, think open throat. The higher the note gets, the louder it should sound, and it shouldn't go softer than the base notes. Straighten the neck and think low. Never raise the head when attempting high notes because it leads to straining. Keep the head as low as possible at all times.
