Hi everyone. What do you guys think of this pedal? does it offer a wide range of distortion? are the gain enough for metal chugging tones? and where can i find them other then the SOFT online store? appreciate your kindness reply hehehe

i think you can find it at ranking opposite sweelee.
why not ask if you can try it there? their service is pretty good. that way, you'll know if it suits your needs.

The gain is def. enouugh to chugga, imo. best try urself, with ur guitar, or at least a similar one and maybe a similar amp. OR check out harmony central reviews, but best try la

or there's someone selling a digitech grunge distortion in the Guitar sell section. you might wanna try that out! :D

True, the dime dist is heavy enough for chug, but it depends on what you're playing ain't it? I find it's not that defined for Slipknot.

haha and no I'm not a maggot/

comparing this to the SansAmp GT-2, which is a better buy, in terms of the price and tone. I play metal, hardcore, not those trash metal.

Thrash you mean. Mebbe you'd want to try out the other pedals reccommended?

Might work for you, oh yeah, you might wanna check out the Jekyll and Hyde.

Works wonders, really.

+1

but you gotta tweak it well. you gotta try it out yourself! that way you know if you it suits you. and its slight more expensive, priced at 250.

hmm.u what you guys think about the boss ds-1 ds-2?maybe i can get them? with a tubescreamer? to boost it? how does this sound?

imho, dont get a stock ds-1, they dont sound that good stock. unless you get randolf to mod it then its a different story.

for a tubescreamer, its only gonna give you a mild overdrive, so i dont think its that practical if you're gonna use it for metal.

i hadnt had much experience with the ds-2 so i cant comment

if i were to get it mod, how much would it be? and where can i get it mod? after the mod, the distortion would b much stronger?

what about the sansamp gt-2? what u think abt it?

i think randolf's registered as a soft user so you could find out and pm him to ask about the cost and everything else. yea i think you would get a smoother distortion after the mod, imho it sounds nicer and more intense. correct me if i'm wrong.

well you'd be looking for something with lotsa low end and mids so its important to have like a 12 inch speaker too. no pedal can give u good metalcore sounds if u have a teeny weeny speaker. maybe can la but 12' is better imo :) can feel the thump in the bass.

I'd recommend you an Ibanez Smashbox 7 cus i feel that it gives a fatter metal tone, plus it comes with a noisegate. try try try! its cheap too.

where can i find the jekyll and hyde? i would like to test them out first..

Guitar77 usually stocks, but the last time I was there (roughly about a few days ago) Beez said they were out of them. I think G77 is placing the order in early Jan so you might wanna try late Jan?

It's worth a shot, and *agrees with Incara* you got to experiment with it to suit your playing, it'll take a while if you wanna nail the precise tone.

and don't play it on a 10 watt! 15 at least, the fuzz will really drive you nuts.

but hey, i checkd the website. those featuring artist are not using a strong distortion with that pedal.. only light ones. so i have no idea whether how strong n warm can it get.

try luh, no harm trying what right?

LOL, actually it sounds very treble-y and dry. Dunno why also. But I thinkk if you EQ the bass on your amp, it should be okay.

so so ... :?

wish it was 9v...tho !!

Sounds too mushy and higher gain wails like a constipated swine ...maybe a littte tweak will cure ...and NO batt

But it does the Dime thingy pretty well :D

i seriously doubt they use the dime distortion at all.
