But realized what my son wants is Fender (MiJ) Jazzmaster. So I am thinking to trade this off with a Fender (MiJ) Jazzmaster, with top up on my side.

Ps: Seniors please advise, would it be practical if just change the pickguard to jazzmaster and do the cavity on the body? I know GC sells the pickguard, but anyone knows how much est cost to do the cavity to suits 2 x P90. Thanks again.

i can't answer your questions. but im in soft long enough to know what kind of person are you. a good, caring, loving , supportive father. ive seen how u asked for advice on soft for ur son and all. i find this very encouraging! your doing a good job father! your son is very lucky!

i think it would do you better to sell the blacktop. then with the cash, top it up yourself and get a jazzmaster. i think relinquish is selling one - unless your son plans to keep the guitar for as long as he is playing. coz when times comes and he wants to move on to a different one, he will have much difficulty selling the guitar since its been extensively modified. else, you will take a big loss just to sell it. not a very good investment.

although you may take some loss on selling it no matter how new it still is (it will still be considered pre-owned),sell it while its still in top condition to get maximum investment back. while youre at it, look for a good jazzmaster to get.

thats just my take.

Agree, better to sell as a freshly mint guitar, and purchase the jazzmaster separately. If he is the gentleman I bought my Aria guitar from, I too told his boy that he has a great dad. Boy, study hard and play hard!
