Music Survey

Hi softies,
I'm doing a business essay for school, and I'm researching about the Singaporean music industry. I designed a survey to find out what people like listening to, and I thought this was a good site to post it.
The survey should take only take about 5 mins, so it'd be great if you could take it.

Also, if you know anybody (or you are that person) that could impart their knowledge about the industry, please let me know. :wink:

here's the introduction from my survey:

"This survey is intended to find out the favourite syles of music amongst people who are active musicians (professional or non-professional) or music listeners in the Singapore music community, and it is specifically targeted to people who listen to rock.
Anonymity is assured, but please answer honestly to keep the results as accurate as possible. If there is no alternative choice available, choose the closest choice or type in the space provided.
The same question is repeated to allow more than one style to be your "Favourite" in the order that you like. If you do not have more favourite styles than there are questions, choose the same one again. Please choose IN THE ORDER of what you like listening to. Do NOT list individual bands if you do not find the "right" style. Simply type in the style in the space provided.

The survey is purely academic and for personal use by the surveyor, and it is 100% confidential.

i repeated the same question so people could choose more than one genre in the order that they liked. its ok if you choose just one, but i wanted to allow more than one genre to be the "favourite".

sorry, it seems that ive been missing out some really obvious genres by accident (POP, FUNK), so i added them to the options available. this hasnt affected the poll results and i will take into account answers before the choices were added. apologies to all who answered

i'll be sure to post the results on SOFT, but i don't think posting the entire essay would be a good idea since it won't be marked until next year, and I don't think I'm supposed to publically show it because it would be prone to plagiarism. The survey's only partly relevant to the essay anyway.

I went around the Peninsular/Excelsior area today for some more data. Thanks to the 10 people who answered!

Q's 2-5 are the same so it's your 1st favourite, 2nd favourite, 3rd favourite style. I know it confused a lot of confusion. Apologies, but I didn't want to change the questions halfway through.

Bro SOFT bro, go get from sis demeter sis the thesis on the local music scene and how the socio-economic circumstances have shaped it. Not sure if you have posted it but it's a damn long read (about 80 pages), complete with 5 pages of appendix!

do you know where i could find it? the forum is a jungle, and it's hard for a new member to find it. it might help me in writing my essay.
as for posting my complete essay on SOFT, i might be able to share the relevant data that i collected and some analysis that i did on it, but probably not the whole thing.
