MUsic in schools.....

I loved music class because recorder blowing and do-re-mi-ing was rather easy.
It was the only class besides art that I could score well.

Plus, our music classes were held in air-conditioned rooms.

For those who said primary and sec sch music lessons sucked.... I agree. Even if I had developed interest in playing an instrument by then, my answer will remain same. =|

I was taught Bob Dylan's Blowin' In the Wind in primary school's music class.
I always remebered the song for the unforgettable chorus.
Only discovered that its a Dylan song after more than 10 years later.

somehow, all the music teachers in my school loved the music book so much, they would never lose the textbook. learn ehthing from the "HOLY BIBLE" of primary school music

y all of u so suprised? ur school nvr taught before ah? haha... anyway it was juz quite basic, we used the keyboards for all the instruments and we got to record one by one, in midi of course. and we just watched a few videos here and there... it was wad got me into jazz... haha

now, thats something! haha the retarded part bout teaching us how to sing and alll sucked... blowing the recorder was evern worse...

they should just teach us some theory or sumthing and how to improvise, circle of fifths harmony and all.. but wth? recorder and singing.... SUX!!!

Anyone remember the 'do-re-mi' signs they taught us?

I found that particularly intresting. Looked like something from Sound of Music

haha
back then in primary school we had hand chimes lessons apart from the boring recorder blowing session. titanic eh. we had to play dayung sampan ... wooo.

daaaaayung saampaaaaann. daayunngg dayung saaaampan

but sad. my secondary school was so budget.

Ah......the old days of using the recorder.....I have Performing Arts in school and apparently,it rocks!Too bad i dont have it anymore,i was due to talk about rock music, haha.
