multi purpose amp

is there such a thing as a multi porpose amp? like one that is able to connect an electric guitar, bass guitar acoustic guitar, keyboard, ipod and any other device you can think of

if you have a bass amp, you can plug your guitar into it, no problems with that. today's bass/ guitar amp also feature the line-out/ aux input so you can plug in your music player & jam along.

I've seen combo amp with 4 inputs. One for keyboard, one for guitar and the remaining 2 I belief are generic.

i think it does. basses sound good on bass amps, guitars sound good on guitar amps. the preamp has alot to do with it. it's just a matter of tone.

How about an active PA speaker with a few preamps for different instruments?

ux1/or audio interface with a pair of monitor speakers eg) KRK, etc..etc...
