should i get a metalzone or marshall jackhammer?
will be using it to play punk, metal and hardrock. which is more suitable?
are there any other alternatives? not gonna spend more than 150

ill go for the MT-2. i bought it and i think it really suits me. can get quite alot of tones from that thing. Just gotta fiddle with the knobs i guess...besides...its boss man...trust it!

+1 for the Jackhammer. Am i the only one here that absolutely hates metalzone? one of the easiest ways to sound high gain though, but i prefer the smoother clipping of the jackhammer.

anyone has any sound samples for the jackhammer? and how much will the mt 2 cost? heard its ard 120

tks

depends on what kinda type of sound u play...
mt2 has more treble although u can meddle with the tone.,..
jackhammer has the bass side to it..

i'll go for the MT2 too....
i think it depends on what kind of distortion texture u want...
MT2 is really good for high gain, extreme tone.
but my friend is using MT2 for mild distortion stuff too.

i think the MT2 suits me pretty well too.

yea definitely the mt-2.... but if u wanna try a marshall u can try going 4 the shredmaster instead... it's out-of-production so it mite take some hunting... u can check it out either at harmony central or ultimate guitar...

i prefer MT2 also...coz u get a wider range of distortion sounds from MT2 than the jackhammer.....anyway its all on the player's taste for sound....

seems like mt-2s more popular among softies compared to the jh, where can i get it cheapest? sweelee? davis?

i'm for Line6's Uber Metal, sorry i didn't choose from your list...

IMO, the metalzone is buzzy, hollow, thin, exactly what it shouldn't sound like.
The jackhammer has a more natural distortion.
Besides, everyone else is using the metalzone. Do you want to sound like everyone else?

thats precisely my point. well, not that everyone's using BOSS MT so we should avoid it, but it like its name suggests, its only useable and decent for metal, the JH has a little more versatility. If you have a bigger budget, i'd suggest a ibanez tubescreamer plus a EQ pedal. the EQ pedal does wonders to your tone, underrated IMO.

well, I don't think the metalzone is even adequate for metal. Well, not the kind I play anyway. I need beefy, thick, muscular tone.

i guess i'm up for tri metal if not from the list...can achieve a shreddy tone yet crunchy dist...metalzone if from the list.

Im using the gt2 right now.I can't seem get a really pumping up metalzone. It's sort of too clean i would say. Or issit my pickups?

My harmonics and mutings doensnt really stand out and the sound is really hard to make it come out.
