most pissed deal ever so far

Just had this pissed off deal not long ago. I had to deal at his convenience but deal got to cancel in the end.

Here goes the story. I am selling my yamaha guitar which is discontinued, fg340. It is made in the 80s. The deal transaction was negotiated from 300 to 240, AND I HAvE TO DEAL AT HIS CONVENIENcE!

I travelled from hougang to khatib, which is the supposedly dealing area. Took bus to take train in order to reach khatib station, travelling at adults price. So when I reach khatib, he told me that he is at some hospital. Which means, I have to travel and meet him for this deal. Wow, I spent 4 bucks or more just to travel and meet him.

So he test the guitar, true enough prrobably I didnt state the condition clear because I expect every softies to know the meaning of discontinued and vintage acoustic. Fg340 is a taiwan piece and not indonesia. What happens is that he even commented if I am trying to make him angry upon dealing the bad guitar with him. And, come on deal a bad guitar? Do your research man, made in 1980s, how good do u want it to be? I did not say that, but because he commented that he expect it to be in good condition like new, that's why it came to my mind..

Not only that, of course I got pissed because I travel all the way, and he already telling me that he wantts to not deal. Being a seller who travelled so far and even gave such big discount, to experience such cancellation of deal serious sucks. Ok fine, so I ask what's the price he wish to deal? His answer is 120bucks. Seriously, what the heck? Even a bad condition lower end yamaha, no offense to thnose using f310, ya bad condition f310 dont even cost lower than that.

Ok, so Im not willing to sell. But as I keep the guitar, the buyer did not say anything, walk off wihout a word of apology, but said WaTEVER!! Pissed or not?

I feel for you. Some people are like that, real unlucky for you bro.

did you include pics in the ad?

to buyers & sellers alike: it's good to disclose details about your products & the agreement which entails. pics are the best to relay such disclosures because we tend to have a different interpretation of things till we actually see it. should there be any misunderstandings/ miscommunication along the way, IMO it's not worth the tiff especially when we don't quite know each other.

Thanks to the previous 2 replies!

Subversion: Yea I did post pictures. but particularly I can be at fault too, since the picture of the guitar from back view isn't too clear???

Any case, since he is not sure whether he wants to deal, why make me deal at his convenience? The ending is really speechless...

Holispirit: Thans man!
Van-halen: I will do that later, for now I dont know
Subversion: Yea I did. but probably my fault since I did not really post the pic of the back of the guitar. Upon dealing he says the stockhead screw missing, but isnt it in the pic? If is talking about the back of the guitar, I accept. Front, please refer to pics.

In any case, since he is not even sure if he wants to deal, he shouldnt get me to deal at his convenience. SOMEMORE, negotiated amount is given!

i see... but it's ok bro- the fact that you are willing to share, we now know what/ who we would be dealing with in time to come. i also specify, in my ads, the dealing venue, which helps.

In all my good and bad experience I had, I never deal at buyers' convenient.

IT IS ALWAYS MY CONVENIENCE.

I had one too many turn downs and "fly aeroplane" that even a mere 5 minute walk to deal is NO-GO. Whoever wants to buy my stuffs have to personally come to my block of flat, wait for me at void deck, call me up, then I will bring the item down.

Seriously, I am not a difficult seller, I even give discounts for students if they asked for further discounts.

Think of it this way, if you want to buy a new shirt, do you travel to the shop ( the seller ) ?

Even if you wanted the stuffs to be delivered like a Pizza Hut, you have to put a deposit through credit card !

He can buy a super high end kapok maybe ?
I feel you bro.
Someone put aeroplane for a slash concert ticket which made me miss the whole gig.
If u know who u are, go jump off a building.
If i'm not wrong he still reminded me in the morning to double comfirm . Near the meeting time ard 5 he was no where to be found. i waited for almost an hour. he did not turn up no replies of sms or answering of calls. He even pick up and not talk for awhile before hanging up.
The gig was just a few hours away therefore i did not go. coldnt afford full priced tickets.
Wasnt ready to spend bank money as it was low.
This lead me to splurge on Singfest day 1 and 2.

Case 2 is my sales of macbook.
Lots of ppl backoff last min.
But the worse was this uncle.
my asking price was kinda $600 or $500 he did a SUPER DUPER ULTRA MEGA LOWLOWLOW BALL.
Asking for $99 or $100.
He said that simlim has better condition ones for lower prices.
I told him to go ahead and buy those he say nevermind i giv u half an hour to consider and then i'll call again.
I told him no nid u can just go and buy from simlim.
After the 2nd call i told him nicely that i wasnt ready to drop prices that badly..
In the end no problems already but till now cannot sell.

^Haha bro, that uncle story was damn funny.

I've lowered my prices for certain stuff, some people keep pestering to lower a price even when I clearly state non-negotiable. I guess the more you deal the more you learn. I will never travel further than to my void deck unless it's a confirmed deal.

When I'm the seller, I always deal at MY convenience. Time and place is always my call, no exception.

Yes this applies unless im going somewhere near the location of the person.

Most of the time unless the person is in the east i'll deal at city hall max. Had too many bad experiences but dun wanna turn this into a rant thread.

Feel for you TS. was the guy some kid or some uncle?

@TS,
Sorry bout that bro/sis. :/
But before you go around (as encouraged by other softies) to put up his/her nick for public stoning,
just remember to "protect" yourself for the next potential sale meet-up.
I've always been the buying person, so yea, it's usually at the seller's convenience and I think it's totally fair
coz I may NOT wanna buy after looking at it. You never know how people promised "mint" and end up seeing it battered.

Chill pill! :)

Anyone has suggestions on how to tell the dealer if you decide not to buy the product after seeing ? Be it u want to consider more or its not suitable.
Wont it be awkward?
Seeing and playing and not buying might tick some ppl off.

Hi bluelime haha rmbered u msged me for the strat pickups lately :P

Hmm i have a suggestion that sellers should allow testing without any obligations to buy, save some emotional rage on both ends? hahaha.

Actually no theres no hard and fast rule to engage this sort of thing.. There will always be unreasonable people around it buyers or sellers. Just got to cross ur fingers.

there is a time that i was selling my stuff, which was $20 but the guy wants for $10........
thats fine, i met at his convinience......
thats fine.........
wats not fine is that he paid me in coins!!!
KNN!
