Monofone @ PoP

I strongly agree with the above poster.

At least do the ripping off more subtly la.

EDIT: Forgot to mention.
I disagree with this article. IMO, they don't rip Muse off well. They sound so desperate to copy Muse it's such a huge turn off.

wow, never heard them before but now that i do, really muse! muse more rocking tho, this one's like a slightly pop side of muse. anyway, i like them. better than stuff i hear on radio i reckon

No big deal with the Muse issue. I mean, a lot of local bands don't sound original? There's always the thought of, "hey, they sound like so and so!" when you hear our local bands. Be it in the singing or the style of music. I love Muse to the bones, and I'm happy that at least Monofone isn't another American punk band sound-alike.

You have a point there.

But i think i have my 2 cents worth also.

I personally find whats irritating about monofone is that the claim so much influences, ranging from paul van dyk to iron maiden. Muse included. And yet all i can hear is MUSE MUSE MUSE. I think all my bros here on soft can testify for that.

And all who played muse covers such as stockholm syndrome or map of the problematique would know how similar it sounds. I am a drummer myself and i know that the song Out for last by monofone has drums that are identical rip offs of the two Muse songs mentioned.

Remember, Influences, not copying.

I think an influence through muse would be in lay man terms, "What Muse might have done if the present muse songs do not exist"

Feel free to discuss further with my input.

Cheers.
