Mogwai at Baybeats?

I dunno. I was wondering why Mogwai's disappeared off the SISTIC website, so I did some poking around; this is what I know so far from past conversations and my inferences:

* Sigur Ros were being considered for Baybeats
* Mogwai was going against KOC for Mosaic at the Esplanade
* Sigur Ros wasn't free; KOC won against Mogwai due to sheer popularity
* Mogwai announces a gig here on August 1, event appears on SISTIC
* Event disappears from SISTIC website, people wonder if Mogwai's coming
* Mogwai's management replies email, confirms that yes they are playing Singapore
* Baybeats.com.sg launches with "Surprise act" at Chillout Stage on day two
* Mogwai's website shows nothing on the second day of Baybeats, but they are playing UK next day
* (Consider a 1.5 day lead time for time zone difference between SG and UK)

Now, I could be absolutely bonkers, but there's a 0.00001% chance that the secret band could be Mogwai! Of course I could be all wrong and this is my overactive brain working out, so feel free to debunk this if you think I'm mad. Arguments against this include why the hell are they playing at the Chillout stage and not the main stage, Baybeats.com.sg has a bloody Mogwai competition, it doesn't make sense and why would they want to stress themselves out like this when they're playing a gig in August anyway.

Sigur Ros is awesome. i saw them when they came to perth recently, and in essence: light and sound. it was such a intense blend of both -) i hope you guys get a chance to see their performance sometime soon too!

yeah, i dont think mogwai would play baybeats if they're already playing 1st August. but then again, if they play a free gig, who knows, might get more people to check out their paying gig?

maybe the special surprise is a condensed version of Dick Lee's Fried Rice Paradise. now THAT would be something.

Hey! Superkicky! Where did you get all the info from about KOC, Mogwai, Baybeats? Kool stuffs! Reliable? I have asked a frenz to check it with her frenz who works in Esplanade. Mogwai is performing at Esplanade under Mosaic series. Tickets on sale on 6 June. The info is probably out on SISTIC on 6 June? Will have to check again. Just don't want to lose out on the good seats. Mogwai is confirmed confirmed coming, rite??
