MLTR ? the review

I’ll admit that I was prepared to be bored out of my skull at the Michael Learns To Rock concert held at Fort Canning Park on that sweltering Friday night. ’ve always thought their songs to be sappy and the lyrics made no sense whatsoever.

Sappy songs, but nice guitar.

And MLTR is the band you do not cite as a musical influence, even if you like their guitars. However, either I’m getting soft or MLTR managed to really pull a couple of good one out of their bag.

• Michael Learned To Funk. Halfway through the show, guitarist Mikkel Lentz, drummer Kare Wanscher and touring bassist Nina (Ina? Mina?) decided to funk it up with some awesome slappin’ bass runs and a sterling solo from Mikke. Unfortunately, they only did that for like three minutes before lapsing back into melodramatic ballads again.

Well in my opinion, they are a great band. Not necessarily in the league of gnr, acdc or aerosmith, but nonetheless they make great music. most of the time. I actually had the vip tickets but it was so far away so i went and sat down like everyone else.

I must say they were really entertaining. They are not pretentious, and if you will some of their songs remind me the late michael jackson, with songs about the world and wars and such. I've been listening to them since primary 2. 21 now so that's a mightily long time.

Well, the concert was great. The guitarist rocked too! Oh by the way the bassist name is Ida.

I'm still kinda bummed that i had to give the show a miss. Been listening to them since i was in kindergarten. :\

Btw, i read the review and the song is called "Take Me To Your Heart" not "Take It To My Heart"

yup yup. they heard the chinese version by jacky cheung on radio and decided to write english lyrics for it. one of their best songs after 25 minutes
