Mini Project

I recently took the audere pre out of my nordy vj5, to replace it with the new ACG EQ02 preamp. So turns out, i really like the ACG pre in the nordy. It gave the nordy the punch i was looking for.

So, having such a good pre as the audere lying around wasn't going down well with me, so i decided to pop it into my marcus miller IV. Problem is, the audere is on a jazz plate, and the marcus miller plate, as you all know, is quite an unconventional shape.

Hence, the mini project to get a pickguard blank, saw it in to shape, to house the audere pre in it. Good thing there's plenty of space in the Marcus miller 4 control cavity, so wiring it up 18 V was not a problem.

Here's the pickguard blank, with the outline of the shape:

Haven't got a chance to test it yet, cos its late at night now and i stay in HDB, cant blast whenever i want to. <_<

but first impressions, the audere is really a big upgrade from the stock electronics. makes the bass come alive. Oh the Audere really goes well with the Nordstrand NJ4 pickups too! (these were changed on my bass more than 2 years ago already.)

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics!
