this is a discontinued MIJ guitar, a treasure from 1990 or 1991, yamaha don't make their RGX series in japan anymore, they have stopped doing so long long ago. condition is 85/100, just string it up and you are good to go.
upper fret access is great due to the way yamaha designed their neck joint. rosewood fretboard is dark and healthy. frets are big and shiny with plenty of life left.
FR licensed bridge has been changed to a "speedloader" type, you do not need to cut off the string's ball end when you install strings, just feed into the bridge, tune up, lock down the locking nuts at the neck and you are set.
tuners changed to newer chrome tuners. stock unbranded neck and bridge pickups have been changed to newer pickups also unbranded. stock tone and volume pots also changed.
this japanese guitar won't lose in terms of quality, craftsmanship and "shredderbility" when compared to other japanese shred axes from that era eg ibanez rg, fender hm strat etc. yamaha's japanese guitars are rare and well known to be very well made.
