MIJ Silver Screw

Hi I want to know how could we identify if the MIJ boss pedal is a silvercrew or not? I have a 2 boss MIJ 1979 model. Thank you.

The screw that latches the battery compartment is literally a silver screw.

I used to collect boss pedals. AFAIK, all silver screwed MIJ boss pedals have their serial number stamped within the battery compartment. it's next to the switch if I remember correctly.

The components is SLIGHTLY different between the Japan made boss pedals. However, the main board is the same. do note that every board has a "code" to tell you which version is it.

If you know your pedal is made in 1979, than yes it should be silver screw.

Really depends on the model but generally the design of the circuits are same. Important thing is the components within the circuit may be different...

those dying components in those silver screw boss units make them all sound so good.
