Microphone for recording

Hey!

What microphone should I be getting for recording singing covers? I don't need a really high end one because I'm a student so I'm definitely on a budget. And where do I get them in Singapore?

The most common starter choice by far are Shure SM58s or 57s. They are virtually identical inside, and the only difference is the grill (ball) on the 58 is arguably better for vocals, hence it's marketed as such. But both are fine.

They should retail for under $150 at most audio shops, or go second hand on the classifieds here for $100 or less.
