i notice when i sing on the mic in the studio and when i sing without mic at home my voice like totally changes!
when i sing at home i sound ok but on the mic i sound terrible like out of tune like that.
any one got this problem??

i guess it has to do with perspective? when you sing at home what you hear is mostly your voice resonating in your head. but in the studio you get to hear your voice amplified by the speakers and thats what it sounds like to other people.

its best if you can like record yourself singing at home then play it back for yourself to hear what you sound like outside your head. then work on it from there.

when i first recorded myself i was like omg. i sound like THAT?! yuck. haha. hope you have better luck. :)

Hi Rikki :Yea,you should be able to hear the difference singing into a mic in a studio.I feel it's a matter of getting used to it.Once you accept & like the voice you hear emitting from the speakers, everything else becomes secondary. Its just like how there's a big difference singing without a mic & singing into a mic.

Yes! :)

What you hear from the mic is the reality. What you hear when you sing without amplification is something very different. With practice, you can learn how good singing "feels" inside, and then you can know when you are singing well and when you aren't.

As for when you're in pitch, you need to train with a keyboard (or another instrument that you know is in tune). With enough practice, you'll be able to recognize when your voice is in tune and when it isn't (without hearing yourself through a mic).
