Mesa Boogie's take on the small amps trend !!! TransAtlantic

If the price goes up any more it would be a little too expensive for a "lunchbox-style" amp IMO. $899 is fair game considering the Dual Terror is about $800 bucks.

OH MY GOD. It sounds like its a amp simulator... This is the walk around lunch box I'll love to own...

Hi 2 mode FTW!

Maybe Blackwood would order one in. Hehe.

But what is with the new amps by Marshall and Mesa having amp simulators? A trend?

For both brands to have amp simulation is nothing new, Marshall has the JVM and Mesa has the Mark IV and V that attempt to simulate analog-ly (the word does not exist but what the heck) their older models but with some of thier own new flavours. The JVM's cleans are something really spectacular.

Mesa does things the analog route by using valves and components to get it's simulations while Marshall uses software (like Line 6's POD) to get the simulation.

The route that Marshall is taking is more bold, for the fact they are a company which got where they are now via their use of valves. To me, if Marshall thinks that the product was not good enough, they would not have put it into production.

Very very nice..

But gotto think on the practical side folks:

No dealer here means no local transformer fitted. Small package = no reverb.

But still a great package, price is good too!! (Hopefully we get optional 230/240v power!)

dodgethis: I'm aware of that, but it used to be modelling the models of each's own brand, no? Now it's like the usual fender's or vox's cleans plus "british" and "american" overdrive...
