It is an unprecedented nationwide campaign to find the perfect song about our home from the people who know it best: You, your family, your friends, your loved ones, your community. Everyone is invited. Write a song celebrating who we are; about our shared eccentricities; about our collective passions; about our commendable achievements; about where we’ve come from; about where we want to get to; about what it means to be part of a people who understand there’s no place on Earth quite like this little red dot; about the people that give this country its heart and personality; about what makes Singapore home.
With the guidance of some of our most respected local music professionals , three of the best songs submitted will be shortlisted, recorded by our very own local musical talents, and have their very own music videos produced.
These three final selections will be promoted across MediaCorp platforms — television, radio, print, online, social media and on-ground activities —in an effort to have Singapore vote for that one special Singapore song that resonates with us all. If yours is the winning song, you will receive S$10,000 as a token of our appreciation.
Another outcome of the competition will be MediaCorp’s production of a grand-scale music video of the song, showcasing the largest number of Singaporeans from all walks of life ever seen in a music video, to be released in the lead-up to next year’s National Day.
This is a gift to every Singaporean, regardless of our various backgrounds, rich heritage and cultures, so songs should be submitted in our most-frequently used language English.
