Finally the Maton EGB808 Tommy Emmanuel is back again at my place. This piece has opened up quite a fair bit. The top is now loose as you can hear the bass response.(before like no bass..super flat) Not as tight as when I played it when it was new. The opened top also makes playablity a much easier on the fingers.
a AAA grade sitka top with Queenland Maple back and side with Honey stained on it. Rosewood fretboard and a polished buff up bridge.
Ever wondered why Tommy Emmanuel sounded so good live....Hint...one is his great melodic playing and the other is the heart and soul of this guitar. THE APMIC PICKUP SYSTEM..i plugged it into an AER COMPACT 60 with just a slight add of reverb and man...woody natural tone with clear ringing bell like trebles....you get that live Tommy's tone ...yes exactly..sure beats the Taylor ES system( my least favourite pickup)
the guitar feels light and comes with a satin finish..
enjoy the review...the next one i'll probably do a review of the pickup plugged in so you can hear how it sounds..
enjoy and cheers Jarvis
