Mastro Fuzz clone

Does anyone knows a good clone to the Maestro fuzz? That sorta thin raspy kinda fuzz you hear from the late 60's bands like quicksilver messenger service, more accurately the John Cippolina kinda sound.

searches have directed me to pretty inaccessible clones like the ashbass fuzz, or too expensive like the flying tomato - looking for something near the 120 range or cheaper, anyone here can vouch for one? (:

get some one to build it for you. seekz maybe?

fuzzes are simple circuits but the transistors used are usually hard to pick out and can be rare. i'm not familiar with the maestro fuzz. but i think u might want to up your budget abit. analogman peppermint fuzz seems to sound like what you are looking for.

thanks! True, the peppermint does have that reediness in it's sound, but for a hobbyist like me it is so to speak a waste to buy this boutique only to sit at home or at the most a couple of outings to jams! That is why i'm looking for a more inexpensive clone (:

thanks for the direction to seekz!
