forgive my nooooobnessss....

but the song, how come so wierd huh?
as in how did he come up with such strange major/minor playing?
wats the trick to it?

go to youtube and do a search on Marty Friedman, there are lesson vids as well as normal playing vids.

His unique sound is due to his style of bending, chromatics and knowing when to play the wrong notes.

Check out the vid where he jammed with Paul Gilbert for a Young Guitar mag DVD.

on 2nd read... why do you find his playing "weird"?

I think Marty sounds fabulous and just special. Weird sounds bad.

Simple exercise to make ur pentatonics sound a little more... different.

Play 1 fret behind your intended note, bend up to intended note.

That's it.

Practise it a little, try playing slightly behind time for that marty feel if you waste.
