Marshall AVTs: How do you swap out the tube?

to all who own or know about the marshall AVT combos, be it avt20, 50, 100 etc, where is the 12ax7 tube? was thinking of swapping out the stock one, but not sure where to locate it. is it just a matter of unscrewing the backplate? cos i tried removing the screws but somehow the backplate refused to budge..

Eh, correct me if I'm wrong, AVT is SS one just made to sound tube right?

not a marshall fan boy myself but i think avt is a ss amp only modelled to sound like tube.

It features a preamp tube.. Its actually a hybrid amp..

it's a hybrid amp.. it's got a 12ax7 (valve/tube) in the preamp, but runs through a solid state power section.. giving it its name "Valvestate"..

so its a tube preamp.well there has got to be away into the amp.

heh exactly, i thought it might have been through the backplate, but after undoing all the screws, the backplate just refused to budge..
