okay sorry guys. i'm really noob in this area of acoustic electric.

so anyway. i've been looking. i'm really in need of a good warm sounding tone ELECTRIC ACOUSTIC with the CUT AWAY.

Been looking at Maestro / Takamine guitars. saw the SD 1 / 2 / 3 and Takamine G series. ( g340sc and etc. )

Can anyone advice me on a good bang for buck guitar? not picky but budget capped at 700 ( YAY. i managed to ask for more! ) now.:???:

i really need to get a electric acoustic due to i cannot simply live on my S670 ibanez hooked up to a AC2 ( acoustic simulator )

also my music is mellowing down becoming more acoustic. thanks.

In my opinion, i suggest you get the Maestro. I was using Takamine G series at first and i thought it was a good acoustic-electric until i tried the Maestro's SD series. Really love sound from the SD. I think its pretty worth getting.. Good luck. :)

for me it was a battle between the G series takamines and the E series maestros. tried both extensively at davis and the peninsula branch of maestro. ended up with a maestro ED-2. it felt superior and sounded superior to me. for me the feel is very important and the maestro nailed it.

hmm. okay. i'm getting more biased to maestro now. hmm anyway which G series did you started out first?

hmm okay. anyway how much did you put in for the ED-2? perhaps this week i'll swing by to check out the maestro products and hopefully land myself on the deal.

I'll root for the Maestro since i own an ED-2 myself. Hehehe. If it's above your budget, fork out that little extra buckaroos, cause it's definitely worth it :P

Another proud owner of the ED-2 :) Never regretted buying it.

Why not save a bit more to get the E series instead of the S? I'm sure you can wait haha!

We should have an ED-2 appreciation thread.

Well, in my opinion, for $400 for an acoustic-electric guitar, i would not recommend u to get either of those because the models of both brands u stated is either all laminated wood or "without pickup" guitar.

Better options would be J&D. It comes with solid top with fishman pickups and u could get it less than $300. Or the Ibanez PF60SCE going for sale $399, comes with acoustic amp (unless u wanna buy da guitar alone, it will cost cheaper).

U may stick to both brands but if u fork out more, the guitar u will get will be much better in terms of tone and wood used.

hmm yea. managed to pull in more budget. 700 now. will consider again (: cause i'm planning for a small time recording and i cannot just live on my ibanez hooked up to a acoustic simulator pedal.

I'd vote for Maestro over Takamine, to be honest. I tried some Maestros today and I really liked them. They felt great, sounded great and the higher-end ones were very well-made. The lower-end Blueridges they had there paled vastly in comparison but I didn't try the higher-end Blueridges. Don't want to get GAS.

MAESTRO!! suport sg made made guitars :D
altho i hadnt tried any takamine but after trying maestro i didnt even considered other options :/

Went to exelsior sometime back. Wanting to find a good acounstic. Back Then I did not know any of the maestro guitars, and I also don't have any budget in mind. I went there, with a specific sound that I was looking for and once I find it, it is only then I will know what guitar I want and price.

They were kind enough to let me test most of the guitars, until I found one that was spot on, the sound I was looking for, Immediately I felt very good playing the guitar and wanted to complete the whole song.

It was th ED-2 hehe. So there, that will be my recomemdation.

yeah maestro is good, i own an ej3 and sounds great.the sd series i felt were lacking some low end.Get the E series best bang for you buck.
