Do places of manufacture really does affect the value of the guitar?
o.o
considering the worksmanship and the quality of the woods used.
does it differs from country to country?

Hmm.. i would like some info for this as well...

WHY NO REPLY!

From my point of view, manufacturing costs are alot lower in countries like china, korea and mexico. It is only feasible for companies to station their factory there. I think the parts are pratically the same from country to country.

So, since i'm not planning to be a guitar trader, i wouldn't care about value of guitars as long as it sound, feels and looks good.

Hmm.

Maybe you could post some of your experiences here before expecting other softies to post a reply... many of us do have the intention of providing a fair and balanced view on this oft-mentioned and oft-discussed topic.

In truth, despite where it is made in, any line of guitars (yes, even the hallowed brands) have their lemons. Many of us have managed to identify and stay away from those lemon-prone guitar lines.. I will not mention any brand names.

But put my experience into perspective.. I bought a TGM acoustic (Ovation copy) for $180 about 3 years ago. Please don't bombard me with questions as to where I bought it.

Anyway, I'm still holding on to it because for $180.. the sound IMHO is pretty much worth $500. It's made in Indonesia, and unless I'm mistaken one of the ribs underneath the soundboard has cracked due to a lack of subtlety on the part of the owner

Does that help to open up your eyes to NOT be biased against guitars and their country of origin?

More importantly... are you going to try those guitars for yourself?
