Mad about Tchaikovsky: Nikolai Demidenko plays Piano Concerto No. 1
Monday 5 January 2009, SINGAPORE – Russian piano virtuoso Nikolai Demidenko returns to perform the solo part in Tchaikovsky’s passionate Piano Concerto No. 1, one of the most popular piano concertos today. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Darrell Ang in this all-Tchaikovsky concert on March 7 which also features the Fifth Symphony.
Currently based in London, Nikolai Demidenko is renowned for his authoritative performances of the Russian repertoire such as Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, and has worked with many conductors and orchestras throughout the world. The Russian-trained musician performs regularly with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Yuri Temirkanov.
