it's a fundamental consideration of whether you whammy (LTD MH-50) or not (RG321). neither guitar would outdo the other comprehensively in terms of QC, tone & overall feel. any specific performance notes you'd like to know?

yeah... Depends on you whether you want it the hard way(FLOYD ROSE LTD MH-50) or the normal way (FIXED BRIDGE IBANEZ RG321MH). :)

LTD MH-50
Floyd rose bridge, some guitarist prefer to have these cos of wide range of sound you can make from doing the dive in and out. and also helps you instead using ur finger for vibrato sound, u can make use of the trem bar. Thus you can learn a lot on how to set up the guitar and etc, especially with trem floyd rose. Stock pickup is good. however..

Ibanez RG321MH
Fixed Bridge, some might say it good, hassle free from long hours of setting up guitar. yes but seems need extra work for ur fingers to make the vibrato sound especially in solos.. setting up is as easy as 123. Stock pickup of ibanez is much more better than LTD MH-50

In conclusion, both guitars are good in either way.

I would buy Ibanez RG321MH if i were you.. hehehe

Cheers, :)

no real preference actually...i tried both types(trem fr and fixed). and i like em both...perhaps i should get the rg321mh first since this is only my second guitar and im venturing into the world of guitaring further. But keep those opinions coming...Its been a great help...

Thx subversion and opposite_youth for da comments...

btw to sub: what do u mean by specific performance notes?

I'm using a LTD MH-50 myself.
It's the Agathis one I got in 2006 for $420 from Davis compared to the Basswood on the current ones.
At least that's what is listed on ESP's website.
Mine is pretty light.
The neck is a little narrow for my long fingers, though.
But it plays nice.
The only things I don't like about it are the pickups and bridge.

The INFs on the Ibanez give you a chunkier sound.
I have since changed the stock pickups on the LTD to DiMarzios.
The springs for the bridge were stiff so I changed mine to softer ones.
It feels better now but these cheap Floyd Rose copies don't stay in tune very well when you do divebombs.
I find that I always need to pull back a little after a divebomb to get back in tune.
And my second string doesn't sustain as long as the other strings.
Wood, construction? I don't know.
Other than that, I think it's a pretty good guitar.
And I'm playing it more than my RG350DX 'cos I'm too used to playing on conventional necks than the Wizard II which is flatter.
Still need some getting used to.

I'm getting a fixed bridge guitar myself and currently deciding between the RG321MH and RGR321EX after a visit to Swee Lee last Saturday.
Even though I don't really like reversed headstocks the RGR321EX looks pretty darn good for a $500+ guitar.
I might end up buying it this Saturday.

The RG321 is a mid-end, but the MH-50 is a low-end... So you can expect better quality with the RG321.

But personally, I think its down to which one feels and plays better for you. I personally tried an RG321 and didn't quite like it very much. The body, neck, etc just didn't suit me. Boils down to which you like better, since everybody's tastes are unique.

And the MH-50 has a whammy bridge, and low-end tremolos tend to give plenty of problems, so I'm biased towards the RG321 this time.

words cant do justice in a forum like this.get yourself down to the shop and rip the guitar apart.then you'll know.cheers

even my daughter likes the RG321...

i'm not stamping an RG321 authority here but the RG321 is a good guitar per se- would have bought it even if it's not an ibanez.
