Looking for Epiphone Les Paul Special II

hi guys.
i went to penisula today to check out the epiphone les paul special II. and im quite surprised that there is only one shop there selling that model. most of them are only selling the more expensive epiphones.
does anyone here know which other shops sell this epiphone model and where are they located? i wanna check out the prices first before buying.

Haha! Swee Lee Music company at Bras Basah Complex sells them too? But It's rather expensive compared to the rest if i'm not wrong?

Swee Lee sells it in a package deal. The type where you get amp, guitar and other accesories for close to $600 if i remember correctly. If you are interested in guitar only, I can get one for you around your mentioned budget. Is it urgent though?

Phase I, its not really urgent. you can get new one or second hand at around $200? if its package im looking at around $350 only lol.

yes thats correct.
Only SV and sweelee sells the special ll.
2nd hand special ll goes for bout 200 yes.

But ill would advise you to save up to get a Rally Les Paul from SV.
Rally Gl300(les paul copy) goes for 390.Looks more like a les paul,sounds more like one

I agree with Rendezvous on the Rally guitar. More worth the money in the long run compared to a Special II.

erm im just looking for a cheap guitar from a reliable brand. so im looking at this epiphone les paul special 2. cos i also like the shape. haha. this is my first electric guitar. any other cheap but reliable guitars to recommend that is roughly $200?

U can look at Craftsman guitars at citymusic, given your budget.
Though i'd dig Rally LP more.

hmm well.i had the special ll.being made of basswood,you dont really get the nice classic les paul sound.

well low end models of famous brands aren't very good imo.
actually alot of "not so famous" brands are reliable also.
for example,the rally guitar is one of them.
if u like the speical ll body,i believe ur going for the les paul shape.
you can try out both the special ll and rally at SV guitars.im sure mike will help you out.

SV shops are at penisular and woodlands central.
Swee Lee shops are at katong shopping center,Brash basah complex and another at sims drive i think.

hey guys. that day i went to penisula, the staff in the shop recommend me this guitar brand called Smash by Swing. Its cheaper than the epiphone, like $240 with strap, but is the sound good compared to the epiphone special?

yes smash by swing guitars are of good quality.
but i believe the smash guitars are mostly stratocaster shapes.
stratocasters are more versitle than les pauls.(if yur strat is SSH of course)
due to 2 single coils and a humbucker at the back.

hm ok thanks. i think i shall get a smash by swing instead of the epiphone. btw, wad is SSH?

the pickups actually.
the epiphone special ll will fall under HH.2 humbuckers on it.

the smash by swing strat would most probably be SSH.

Mostly strats:
SSH= Single coil,Single coil,Humbucker
SSS=Single coil,Single coil,Single coil

Les Pauls:
HH=Humbucker,Humbucker
