Local Bands - LIVE - Indoor Stadium -WHEN??

do you think a time will ever come when local bands get to perform LIVE to a full-house of 7-8 thousand people at the Singapore Indoor Stadium?

IMO i think it will never happen unless the band consists of 'cute' guys.
maybe a band with members like
vocals: taufik
guitars: slyvester
drums: christopher

which one you think wld be more popular in sinagpore?
1) local band that write their own music, produce good'o local music, but have plain/average joes members

2) 'factory made' local band with cute/good-looking members that wld make panties wet, produce pop-rock love ballads, do not write their own music

IMO option 2
looks definitely play a part especially in entertainment industry
most singaporeans esp teenagers are very superficial..
and mind you teenagers are an impt market for music

If a band plays for the passion and it manages to clich a deal and perform at indoor stadium, it is a great achievement, but manufactured bands these days don't even play their own instruments, all they do is the 3Ss - Stand, Sing, Smile. Simple as that.

Being a teen myself, I fully agree with you that the majority of teenagers these days are superficial. They only go for the looks, not the talent.

some maybe soon if more and more ppl get exposed to the REAL local music seen then maybe with ppl and companys like SOFT!!!(yeah man!) and porb if swee lee or davis or even luther music and music shops in spore reall team up and ppl are WILLING to pay for the gig(ticket wise) and bands just be stuck up and want to get a $ out of it and if singaporeans gorw some eyes it may just happen.

its gonna happen soon... stop complaining and start rocking. HARD. U can see local bands like the observatory, electrico ,pug jelly(not that i like them) and quite recently RAFE had their songs pretty high up the radio charts. Electrico was also nominated for the mtvasia awards... wad more to say? And they're just ordinary people.. except that electrico has a hobbit for bassist.. and a babe went to kiss him onstage!!.

they are getting media attention.. its just that u guys arent paying attention

i can imagine the best of singapore bands in the indoor stadium... electrico, ronin, rafe, the suns (formerly boredphucks) . its definitely gonna bring one hell of a crowd. This formula was proven VERY effective tonight at orchard jam!!!

hifi_killer u got a point! LET ROCK WAHAHAHA dont forget ungly in the morning too their song: stupid "a" song is playing on p10 quite often.. u should check them out awesome band.. better then electrico if u ask me.. haha not that i dun like electrico or anything!

is this post necessary at all? So what if the local band "you" are supporting is playing at indoor stadium. Does it make you a more real fan, the true fan? If one day the local band i listen to start playing at indoor stadium and with full of kids, fashion followers around. It'll be a sad day for me.....

learn to walk, before wanting to fly. Every so often, there are gigs playing at esplanade, substation, various CC etc. Go support them in these places first. Pay to watch them! And if the radio dont play their music, then how. Will you all run around to find their demo, write to them on where to get their stuff etc? It scares me to see people wanting to support local "rock/alternative" music scene and seem to be thinking so far ahead...... If no one talk bout it here..... are you people going to keep supporting it? And please, dont think that if no one talk about it, how to support. It's only whether do you actually bother to go and find out or not!!!
