Hi.

Has anybody tried this? I tried to plug the line out of my amplifier to my sound card today to record. There is constant hum or background noise that even if i cut all the volume of the Amp, it is still there. Any the sound is not clear, crispy as plug straight the guitar to the mic in.

Would plug it through a cheap audio interface help?

Thank you

in my opinion, plugging in straight or using a mic to record is better for recording than the line out thingy. i tried doing what you did with my old small marshall mg 15 watt and it sounds muddy. try plugging straight into the mic in and then use VST effects to make it nicer. or use a mic then use vst.

and yea turn off Florecent lightings (the ones with ballast inside) and stay away from the computer / monitor when recording as they tend to cause hum.

use a DI box with line out (bal and unbalanced out), that shld solve yr problem.
I am using a PARA Acoustics D.I. Good luck!
