ok this is a follow up on 'buyers beware'.

after reading all the replies, yeah i realized i was being naive(stoopid) to assume that prices couldn't vary by much (like 100% difference). and true.. they were not dishonest to jack up the price by so much. but com'on..even if you go sim lim and compare prices you don't see people marking up prices by that much. its really kinda ugly and in the end the customer suffers and becomes very wary of the sellers. if all the sellers think like that, it can really go out of control. ok i better not say too much and anger somemore people.

i guess the point i'm trying to make is - if u are a customer and blackwood is the 1st shop you step into...look around cos at least one of their product is extremely overpriced. and i wasn't checking prices after buying (i got a life too), i just happened to stumble into the same product. well i hope this helps someone (eg, another naive person researching on where to buy stuff).

"when i grow up, i wanna set up a music shop where people can come and buy stuff and trust that they will not be overly-ripped off" - Abraham Lincoln

(of course he did not really say that :p)

Ok, noted. Do keep us informed when the shop is open and people can go buy stuff and trust that they will not be overly-ripped off.

Cheers
love for all out there

haha, glad u took this as an experience
haha, for me i too take this as something to remember
next time i will survey for the best prices when buying something
haha

All I can say is, it applies for everything else. Lemme put this into the computer side, meaning Sim Lim Square which most IT dudes hunt for their parts there, or at least my friends. Same rule applies, if you're not in a rush, take your time, walk around, you never know when you'll change your mind. At least for me, I actually wanted to buy blank CD-R from Store X, but end up buying them from Store Y because they were selling cheaper and the packaging-wise its exactly the same.

You know what I have to say to that? Would you rather just ONE bugger jack up the price OR EVERYBODY JACK UP THE PRICE. Then you think EVERYONE'S REASONABLE. If you don't let the dealers have their own price wars and instead let them collude and fix prices together, we consumers will become subjects of predatory pricing. Please, don't come down on people who jack up the price, compare prices BEFORE actually buying.

i think you're an idiot because you got ripped off and made two threads about it, but thanks for the advice anyway!
