Hi,

I wanted to start learning bass but I have problems finding a left hand bass. I tried looking around bras basah but couldnt find any. So, just wanna ask where can I find them.

Thank you.

agreed, saw a lefty BB414 and a lefty RBX 170 ... can check it out ... i think they even have 5-string lefties ...

Hi EnEn,

my question is, do you NEED a left hand bass?

i have friends who are left-handed but they play right-hand guitars so i think it's perfectly fine if you are left-handed and play a right-hand bass.

it's easier to find basses around anyway. right-handed at least.

if you're picking up bass for the first time, i would suggest that you get a right-hand bass due to the availability of it, in Singapore at least.

hi rottenramone,

there isn't any particular brands that im looking for.. just trying to see the availability.

As for exin,

thanks for your replies, I just thought that it might better if a left handed person plays left hand.

hmm... anyway going to check yamaha soon.

Thanks guys.

Hi EnEn,

that's not true actually.

since you're picking up the bass for the first time it doesn't matter whether you learn left hand or right hand. at the end of the day bass playing or even any other instruments requires muscle memory in your fingers/legs/hands as you practice that will be developed over time.

so learning either way doesn't make a difference. but if you do pick up i suggest you learn right-handed due to the market of right-handed products/basses/accessories around here in singapore. =)

left handed

iam a left handed.. but i start of right handed.. more choice i will say.. moving around the fretboard is quite easily too as my strength is there..
well it is how u feel and how u learn .. more practise u can do wonders.
who knows u may be the next two handed player.. stredding on the bass fret board.. \lnnl
and all the 8 fingers tapping techniques

im a lefty too, but i play right handed. but i guess it is within oneself on which way to start.

even a right handed guy can play a left handed bass. anyone can play either left or right.

it's just the use of your brains. and how they work.

well just like what exin had said, do you really really need a lefty bass?. or is it just you wanna stand out from the rest?.

well by using a right handed you can get more varieties of bass no doubt about that.

it's up to the individual, because at the end of the day, you just gotta ask yourself whether did you enjoy bass playing on a lefty or a righty.

what matters most, just do what you love.
