Does anyone know any websites where i can learn how to change pickups myself?

Show a man how to fish and he can eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he can eat for a lifetime.

btw i passed my DNT for the last 2 years so i know how to solder as i have a soldering machine too.

If you can solder and can read circuit diagrams, then you can change your own pickups.

There are many circuit diagrams available on the net for various pickup combinations.

If you can't read circuit diagrams (they're actually quite easy to read), then take a digital picture of the pickups before you remove them and use the picture as a reference to re-solder the new ones.

If it's one for one replacement with the same pickups, then it shouldn't be problem. But if you're replacing different types, like a single coil with an open coil humbucker, then it may take some figuring out on your part.

if you can solder, i think most of the stuff is cut out for you. IMO the biggest jump is when you decide to take up your soldering iron and getting into the action.

you can try searching google for like terms like "guitar" "wiring" "schematics" "diagrams" "electronics" and things like that. usually those diagrams are listed out interms of strat-type, tele-type, lespaul-type etc..

do note that different pickup manufacturers use different colour coding for their wires, though black is almost always ground (and the bare wire too). and there this phase thing that is important when you want to use 2 pickups at the same time (ie. like 2 position on a 5 way position strat, that is middle+neck coil). if the phase is wrong, it'll sound weak.

yeap
