learning the piano

Hi guys,erm...been playing the guitar for about 2 years.Now i wanna learn keyboard/piano.I am greatly inspired by muse...erm..just wnana play for fun la.Don't know if i need lessons? Sshuld i sstart by buyin a cheap keyboard? need advice.thnks

erm do those beginner starter kits include those with effects and modulators? Like can switch to rhodes piano for example and other kind of wierd efx. Any models to reccomend? budget is around 100-170 or so.

Pardon my ignorance,but i think my question is a little different from mystic. He/she wants to learn to read notes and learn from a teacher if i am not wrong.However i wanna learn stuff online,like simple chords and songs on youtube.
