LAUNCH PAD 09, is it a scam?

A few of my friends are gathering people for this event. Not an unusual thing for teenagers to do these days BUT here's the catch.

-There is no website/blog/myspace or twitter for this event.

-All of them do not have the contact number of the main organizer and he calls from a private number

-There is no poster advertising this event

-He claims it's exclusive but wants a turn out of 3000 people at the event which is supposed to be held in December(How exclusive is that).

-He demands that they find 3000 people in 3 weeks, which is quite ridiculous especially on a professional level.

-There are no fixed details, ad's or permits confirming that this event is happening in the first place

-The "guest list" they received from the company was just a basic excel spread sheet with not proper company header and footer.

-Entry to the event is based on a guest list, ticketless ??

-He is charging 40 bucks for 2 days, free flow of drinks and alcohol and international bands such as the subways are supposedly playing.

Does anyone have any idea about what's going on?

Agree.. organizers should have concrete details before making announcement of the event. At least date, time, venue. Scam or not, I cant comment on that.
