LAST DAY OUT UPLOADED NEW SONG !! do give ur comments!

Heya, good going all that to LDO. But I would suggest that you look for a dedicated producer before you head to the studios. And get in touch with Softies on how to work with a producer - its important if you're concerened with issues related to copyrights and ownership of the songs.

IMHO, there are too many bands that come up with albums wayyyyy too soon. And when they do they are usually young bands and have no idea of the repersussions related to working with a producer, BUT THEY DO NEED ONE IF THEY':RE A YOUNG BAND.

LDO has lots of potential but it'll be a waste to put your chickens out before they're hatched.

Cheers

RoRk,we kind of new to all this..whats a producer. This must sound very amature. What does a producer do?

Could u give us more tips on this?

Thanks. :)

hi RoRK,

care to elaborate on your points? i am interested.

1. issues related to copyrights and ownership of the song.

does it mean when you record, the ownership of the song does not only belong to you, but also to the producer? i understand they do keep a backup of the recording right?

2. have no idea of the repercussions related to working with producers.

may i know what kind of repercussions it will generate?

please advise.

Unforunately our "I lack any foresight other than starting this great site" James Woo has reluctnatly refused to set up a forum for Songwriters. Perhaps that is where your Qs would be better answered by those like you and those who know better - I don't now a lot better, unfortunately.

The funny guy sets up a site for musicians but doesn't set up a forum for songwriters!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to people like these, people like you and those that come after you will always be clueless.

Anyways, here's my take -
Producers take a pinch and CAN own a lot of the rights to your songs once it is recorded.

You young bands need a producer to help you get your SOUND and if they're any good, they'll know how to setYOUR VIEBS, YOUR FEEL, YOUR LOOKS!

YOu're a package. You're a marketing proposal - something they'll want to put up on a shelve somewhere - sometimes, anywhere.

YOu, young band dudeds and dudettes need some form of direction - otherwise, you're not going to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

On the other hand, be wary of producers that are going to take too much ownership of your works.

James should get off his horses and do something to help songwriters in Singapore. Seems like he only cares for cover bands. What a joke it is that a site dedicated to Singaporea music doesn't even have a forum to cater to its songwriters!

WTF! We all do covers!?!?!?!

Get going!
