hey guys, i saw sweelee's webpage and their laney amps are really cheap.
especially their stacks, HCM120 and those 100 watters. they only cost like 400 500+.

anyone wanna comment abt laney amps? what amps are good? like versatile enuff. and gives a good clean and OD tone? im not really into heavy distortions but just very classic sounding disotrtion.

something like.. motley crue and guns and roses. can recommend me? thanks.

I dont really quite get wats hotplate... Its like a booster or something?

But apart from laney, what else u recommend man? Im using it for bedroom practises and most prob at a more considerate level. Cause im living in HDB...

Amp with a good OD and clean.. Got other recmmendations? =/

Hotplate is only used for tube amps, not for transistor amp. PM me, I got reccomendation on amps for you.

I tried out the Roland Cube yesterday - the 30 watt one. The amp sims are really good, but it does not have on board effects (not a major problem, but nice to have). Even so, at reasonable volume it makes a good sound, clean and dirty.

I think Mikemann stocking those too.

Bro, are you sure it has no on board effect?
according to http://www.roland.com/products/en/CUBE-30/ it does have some built in effect

Hee hee..... I tot so too, till I got it. It's actually amp modeling effects. Not effects like delay, flange, chorus, reverb...etc

Yes - sorry - one we tried yesterday was 15 watt version - 4 amp models (metal stack, metal, overdrive and dist), no effects. Still, it sounded great. SL list price $250.
