the much anticipated new album release..

been listening to the album and i don't know about you but it's a far cry from their previous works..
This just sounds a lil too mainstream for me

they already started showing such signs on Karmacode, but this album seriously is a downer. very much one. and i think this is the first time i see Cristina Scabbia "dancing", lol.

I think Lacuna Coil has always been over-rated

Never was a fan of Lacuna Coil; Lots more better ones out there imo.

Just out of curiousity on the topic, does anyone listen to The Gathering and their latest album?
Their vocalist Anneke left and I was worried they wouldn't be able to pick it up but I thought their latest release was excellent.

What's known as goth metal in the 90s, isn't something i would expect these days.
Lots of new bands are trying to be th next Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Epica or After Forever. Sadly, they fail to produce something of such quality.

Even bands like these change their style to attract the mainstream scene.

I feel the latest album is weaker. They're spiralling down slowly...but I respect their musical vision. Imagine you writing songs, you might wanna try something different some day after listening to your favourite idols changing styles.
