Kustom Tube 12A, changing the tube, any improvement?

Hi guys, i've borrowed the above stated amp from my friend for quite some time now...and its really old by itself.

The single 12ax7 tube doesn't really light up...its like very dull in brightness when the amp is turned on. Is this normal? Or is the tube dying?

Will changing the tube improve anything? Should i try other tubes?

yea the tube is pretty dull.
changing tubes would of cos definitely change the sound, but by better thats ur call.
to me it sounds pretty good already for what it is, a practice amp.
