In an effort to galvanize the whole community to internalize the spirit of Ramadhan, Green Media presents a one-night only performance by Malaysia’s highly successful and popular Nasyid group, RABBANI. “Konsert Cahaya Ramadhan Bersama Rabbani” (Ray of Ramadhan Concert with Rabbani) is their first full length concert in Singapore introducing their latest album “Nostalgia Nadamurni” which won the Malaysia’s “Anugerah Industri Muzik” 2009 (AIM - Malaysia’s Music Industry Awards) for the “Best Nasyid Album” & “Best Nasyid Song” category. This 90-min concert with a special guest appearance by a local Nasyid group, Solihin, hopes to provide audiences with a true award winning performance from the renowned group that has been entertaining and spiritually motivating audiences, through their music and lyrics that enraptures every listener’s heart and soul.
Held in conjunction to the upcoming month of Ramadhan, the concert hopes to ignite a spirit of perseverance and determination among the community, especially during this period of economic turbulence and instability. Ramadhan helps to remind and instill the importance of caring, sharing and giving – especially to the less fortunate members in the society. Songs such as the latest award winner ‘Bila Nur Melimpah di Hati’, ‘Mentari Merah Di Ufuk Timur’ (Red Sun in the East) and ‘Pergi Takkan Kembali’ (Gone Forever) are excellent reminders to remain motivated and work hard to improve oneself and to do good to others.
Formed on 1 March 1997, ‘Rabbani’ literally means ‘The Intelligent and The Obedient’ and serves to promote individuals, families and communities to righteous deeds. Rabbani aspires to bring uniqueness to its image and performance through its group make-up of nine male members which differs from others. With a classical ‘nasyid’ concept while borrowing rhythms from the Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean region, Rabbani is able to mix classical with modern day genre that suits the taste of the young and old. Their musical style adopts a global phenomenon of ‘world music’ without compromising the messages that the group aspires to share.
