This September, Singapore Management University's (SMU) piano ensemble, The Ivory Keys, will hold its second annual piano festival -- Klaviesta!. Conceptualized from "klavier" (piano) and "fiesta", Klaviesta! aims to celebrate the joy of piano music.
Highilights of this year's festival include solo recitals by award-winning pianist Azariah Tan, a final year piano major at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, and virtuoso Dr Christina Tan, who after having been based in the United States for a number of years, has now returned to Singapore.
Klaviesta! will open with MUSE-IC, an arts exhibition about the muses of 8 composers. The festival line up also has free lunch time performances showcasing collaborations between The Ivory Keys and SMU performing arts groups and a Tri- University concert featuring pianists form SMU, NUS and NTU.
