heys, i love the backing guitars tone, sounds very alive and 3d like

good melody line too but perhaps you could boost the volume of the solo guitar a little? it sounds a little far away

awesome outro btw

well it's just a bit more hardpanned to the sides and a bit more to the left, but credit really goes to the GT-8 has great different stereo levels which can make sounds very broad and spatial - to the extent they go behind your ears, if you know what I mean. What you heard is still the tip of the iceberg!

I've haven't really mixed this thing well yet...

Thanks for checking it out.

Hi Amptones,

I used the Gibson Les Paul studio for this. Stock Alnico magnets.

Direct recording, yes, on my G4 Powerbook. I'm about to order the JCM800 head and cab for home use, and will try using miked setups then.

:)

Nice one, Killinghall. I enjoyed listening to it.

Just a side note, the most important thing to me is that I actually enjoy the track, and not solely focusing certain particular aspects of a piece, say tone/technical ability etc. (Not withstanding the fact that your track includes those valued aspects.)
I most certainly enjoyed your O.M.

Okay, I guess I have said too much already. Cheers,

Glad you enjoyed it, Phil. It's a rather raw idea I had for a song and while I tried to make as melodic as I could, there's still quite a bit that can be improved in terms of the choice of notes... :)

hey killinghall u own once again man! tasty phrasing and melodies, even sounds like tony macalpine playing at times. Keep the OMs coming, good stuff!

Thanks for listening, Slowish and bam. Hmm, actually the influence this time leans more toward Vinnie Moore. The bridge or chorus section at 2:26 sounds just like a part from VM's' 'Rain'. I only realized that this morning! The melody sounds something close to MacAlpine's Tears of Sahara, maybe? Or is it the tone...

hey dude , happening piece. whether it was slow phrases or shred runs, could feel u throughout. drums a bit soft.

wth, i envy your effort, putting out solid OMs each time.

paulo: thanks for the tip on the drums. hadn't really listened to that part yet - only felt the backing guitar was too loud and the bass too...bassy. Guitar's out of tune too on my D and G strings.

sofyan: play live...hopefully soon! I do miss those days playing in clubs and such. i don't really have a band now per se but I do jam with regulars apart from spending most of my musical 'time' at a friend's studio, helping with guitar tracks and stuff.

Cheers for listening in, guys. Appreciate it.

:)
