Perhaps you need an EQ pedal. Bear in mind that in order for most wah pedals to really work their best you need to have somewhat more mid-range presence in your sound. The EQ pedal can also help you get a heavier bottom end.

Hmm.

resistance control? you mean like a control over the level of sweep? (i.e how much "uuuuuoooaahhhh" it can go?)

What make of Wah pedal are we discussing here?

mine is the hendrix wah...no controls at all..the resistance control is a pot dat controls hw much the range would differ when u rock the pedal..

Hmm.

Oic. Well I don't think the wah is the issue (I usually set my own wah, a 95Q, to the maximum sweep range).. but rather perhaps it's a volume issue? You can't hear your wah sound over the rest of the band?

so are u looking for something with more bass and less treble?
will dimarzio breeds be too heavy?
tesla plasma pups are also recommended for strat players who wish to have less twang and more bass.. yep..

Err guys, he's looking for strat-sized pickup, not humbuckers..... won't work unless the guitar's already routed for humbuckers, or if he wants to DIY and route it himself. =P

Threadstarter: What your looking for is something warmer sounding than usual strat.... HS-3/YJM can work, just make sure you are fine with low-output pickups. Otherwise, You can also look at Air Norton S.
